Whether you’re replacing an old unit or installing one for the first time, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to install a TOSOT ductless rooftop AC system—all by yourself. Before You Read

Before starting your RV AC installation, please double-check the following:

  • Power Supply Compatibility: TOSOT RV AC requires a 115V power supply with either a 15-amp or 20-amp time delay fuse or circuit breaker.
  • System Type: This guide is for ductless units only.
  • Opening Dimensions: Standard 14.25” x 14.25”.
  • Roof Thickness:
    • 1.2–3.15 inches: use 5.3” bolts
    • 3.15–5.32 inches: use 7.5” bolts

Step 1: Sealing

Attach the gasket and sponge with sealing strip to the designated locations on the outdoor unit chassis.

Step 2: Outdoor Unit Mounting

Lift the unit to the rooftop and align it horizontally with the opening.

Step 3: Upper Duct Plate Installation

  • Stick the fabric duct to the flat side of the upper duct plate. Black side out.

  • Secure it using 4 self-tapping screws.

Step 4: Ceiling Frame Installation

  • Remove and save the 4 screws.

  • Pull out wire bundles and align the junction box.

  • Secure using:
    • 5.3” bolts for 1.2–3.15 inch roofs
    • 7.5” bolts for 3.15–5.32 inch roofs

⚠️ Confirm roof thickness before proceeding.

Step 5: Bottom Duct Plate Installation

Secure the bottom duct plate using 4 screws and trim excess fabric.

Step 6: Electrical Wiring

  • Route the power cord into the junction box.

  • Connect wires:
    • Black → L (Live)
    • White → N (Neutral)
    • Yellow-Green → Ground

  • Reconnect control signal wires to display box.

Step 7: Install the Ceiling Grille

Secure the grille with 4 screws. Control panel should face the front of the RV.
